Friends of the Children - Boston is proud to be launching our new Positive Peers Program in the 2008-2009 school year. Though partnerships with AmeriCorps and the Corporation for National and Community Service, we have recruited and trained AmeriCorps members to serve as Positive Peer Mentors in three Boston Public Schools. The Positive Peer Mentors will work with Peer Groups both in classroom and after school, providing advocacy in school, academic support, access to community service, physical fitness and nutrition, and cultural activities. We are very excited to welcome the Positive Peer Mentors to Friends-Boston!
